How to Transfer PeptideCalc to a New iPhone with JSON
Direct answer
On the source device, use Settings > Data & Sync > Export Data > All Data, choose JSON under File Type, and save the file privately. On the destination device, use Import Data, choose that JSON file, select the categories, then use Merge (Keep Current Data) unless you deliberately want the destructive Replace Current Data behavior.
A JSON export is a restorable PeptideCalc backup file. It can contain private treatment, schedule, history, site, and inventory information, so store and transfer it only through a location you trust.
Importing is not automatically device-local when iCloud Sync is enabled. The imported result can upload to iCloud and overwrite or re-add data on other devices.
Scope: This page explains PeptideCalc controls and software workflows. It does not choose a medication, dose, liquid, syringe mark, preparation method, or administration technique. Use the product label and instructions from a licensed clinician or pharmacist to decide whether any input or result is appropriate. Treat exported files as private. Replace Current Data is destructive for the selected categories, and an import can propagate through iCloud Sync.
These labels and steps were checked in the public PeptideCalc 2.7.7 app on .

Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Open Export Data on the source device
Open Settings, tap Data & Sync, then tap Export Data.
Step 2: Choose All Data
On Export Data, tap All Data to prepare a backup containing the available protocols, schedules, log history, and inventory.
Step 3: Choose JSON and export
Under File Type, choose JSON. Review or change the File Name, tap Export, then save or send the file through a private location you control.
Step 4: Open Import Data on the destination device
Move to the destination device, open Settings > Data & Sync > Import Data, and choose the exported JSON file.
Step 5: Review what will be imported
On Import Data, use Choose Data to Import to select the intended categories. Read This File Contains, Import Details, and any iCloud Sync message.
Step 6: Choose Merge or Replace
Choose Merge (Keep Current Data) to retain current local data and add missing imported items. Use Replace Current Data only when you intend to remove current items in the selected categories when they are absent from the imported snapshot.
Step 7: Verify the destination device
After import finishes, check the selected categories on the destination device before deleting the exported file or changing anything on another synced device.
Questions about this PeptideCalc workflow
Should I use Merge or Replace Current Data?
Merge is the safer default because it keeps current local data and adds missing items. Replace Current Data can remove current items in the selected categories when they are not present in the imported snapshot.
Does an All Data JSON export include every PeptideCalc setting?
No. App settings, theme, notification preferences or state, and iCloud Sync settings are not included.
Can the import change data on another device?
Yes, if iCloud Sync is enabled. The import can upload and overwrite or re-add data on other devices. If iCloud Sync is unavailable at the time, the change stays local until sync resumes.
Is the JSON file safe to email or post publicly?
No. Treat it as a private backup because it may contain sensitive treatment and history information. Share it only with an intended recipient through a location you trust.
How do I move PeptideCalc data to a new iPhone without iCloud?
Export All Data as JSON on the old iPhone, move the private file to the new iPhone, then open Settings > Data & Sync > Import Data. Review the selected categories and use Merge (Keep Current Data) unless you deliberately want Replace Current Data to remove current items that are absent from the backup.
